Everything on the site is reviewed before it goes live — here's what we look for so you know what to expect before you submit.
What we publish
We publish events and places where kids and families actively do or experience something. The activity itself should be the point — not a pitch for something else.
We cover Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Clayton, Danville, San Ramon, Alamo, Blackhawk, Lamorinda, and Martinez — if your event or place is outside this area, it won't be listed.
Events we love:
- Free events from schools, libraries, parks, nonprofits, scouts, PTAs, and churches
- Community festivals, seasonal celebrations, and public performances
- Paid camps, classes, and youth sports where the activity is the product
- Parent meetups, playgroups, and support groups
- Library and museum programming — storytimes, maker sessions, nature walks
- Fundraisers for schools or nonprofits
- Open-to-the-community religious events like holiday festivals or family nights
- Dance studios, music schools, art studios, and play spaces hosting real classes or events
Places we list:
- Parks, playgrounds, splash pads, and trails
- Classes and programs for kids (art, music, sports, STEM)
- Family-friendly attractions and indoor play spaces
- Party venues
What we don't publish
We skip submissions that are primarily about selling a service, generating leads, or promoting a business rather than offering a real activity for families.
- ✕Service ads disguised as events ("schedule a consultation," "book a tour")
- ✕"Free" events that are mostly a sales presentation with a little activity tacked on
- ✕MLM or network marketing events (doTERRA, Pampered Chef, etc.)
- ✕Chain or corporate promotional events
- ✕Events outside our area
- ✕Partisan political rallies (nonpartisan civic engagement is welcome)
- ✕Content not relevant to families with kids
- ✕Duplicates of events already listed
- ✕Submissions without enough detail — missing a date, location, or description
For-profit businesses are welcome — as long as the event or place is genuinely a kid or family activity, not a wrapper for lead generation. A dance studio hosting an open house? Great. A realtor hosting a “family fun day” to meet potential clients? That one we'd skip.
Common reasons a submission might not appear
- Marketing or lead-gen — it looked more like promotion than a community activity
- Not a family activity — it's a service or transaction, not something kids participate in
- Out of area — outside our area (see city list above)
- Not enough detail — missing a date, location, or useful description
- Already listed — a duplicate of an existing event
Why don't I get notified?
We don't collect email addresses — it's part of how we keep the platform privacy-friendly and low-friction. The trade-off is that we can't send you a notification when your submission is reviewed.
If you submitted something and it hasn't appeared after a few days, it may have been declined for one of the reasons above. You're always welcome to resubmit with more detail or a clearer description of the activity.
