About Mount Diablo Families

Mount Diablo Families started because I was tired of finding out about family events after they'd already happened.

I'm Maja - a local mom of two little ones and a software engineer living in Walnut Creek. My husband and I moved to the East Bay from the city when we started planning for kids, hoping for more space, a strong sense of community, and easy access to the outdoors. We found all of that - and more - in Diablo Valley.

The area is filled with attractions for families - from parks and playgrounds to events and hidden gems. But keeping track of it all (especially with kids in tow) isn't always easy. Figuring out what to do right now can feel surprisingly hard. That's why I created Mount Diablo Families - a free, community-driven directory to help parents quickly discover things to do across Walnut Creek, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, Martinez, Danville, and beyond.

Anyone can submit an event or suggest a place. If you've ever wished you knew what was happening a little sooner — you're in the right place.
